I've been hooked on an anime called Last Exile, and recently I've been enjoying the dvds of it I rented from my school library. Dio has an adorable dubbed voice (Joshua Seth--for those that aren't familiar, he did Tai in Digimon, Shoubu in Duel Masters, and Hige in Wolf's Rain). Though I watch Last Exile subbed, I don't like Dio's Japanese voice (he sounds like a girl). I was surprised to find that three of the four wolves of Wolf's Rain played dubbed parts (Mona Marshall, Toboe, plays Luciola, Crispin Freeman, Tsume, plays Alex Row, and of course Joshua Seth, Hige, is Dio). I don't like how Claus is pronounced 'clahs' in the dub...the Japanese pronunciation is much better. I don't like dubbed Clasu' voice...it's too deep for him. Whenever Dio speaks, I switch to the English to hear Joshua Seth (I luff his voice).
Other than that, I actually drew Son Goku and Sanzo from Saiyuki (I've never even seen the anime or read the anime) for someone in the anime club I go to. She seemed to like it. I'm trying to endear myself to the club members; I'm not friends with anyone, and I feel fairly left out at meetings because I have no one to talk to. That, and I seem to be unnoticed. Maybe it's because most of the club members are older than me, but the majority are only one year older, so I don't see how it makes that big of a difference. Oh well...Riks is doomed to be a loner for the rest of her life.
Edit: Just watched "Sesshomaru and the Abducted Rin" again. I noticed this a while ago, but I was just reminded of it--Sesshomaru, when talking to Naraku, says these lines, "Naraku, you're such a lowly demon. You will never have the power or resources to harm me." Sounds okay, right? Listen to the way David Kaye says resources. He pronounces it 're-zources' instead of 're-sources.' I think that's adorable that Sesshomaru says resources that way, and at the same time I wonder if that's how David Kaye really says the word resources, or if he just did that for the sake of Sesshomaru's stylization.
My mother is trying to get me to forget about Anime Boston and go to ConnectiCon instead. Puh, I don't think so. I've wanted to go to Anime Boston for at least five months. Besides, ConnectiCon sounds boring. I have no costume to cosplay in, and I'd look really stupid traveling with the rest of the anime club when the members are cosplaying, and I'm the only one in everyday clothing (which is terrible looking anyway). Wow, what a run-on sentence. o.0
AND, David Kaye is not at ConnectiCon, now is he? -drool-
